Police Looking for Texting and Driving Violators in September
You heard it before "Dont text and Drive". During the month, eleven law enforcement agencies will remind you if they see you texting while driving with a $100 fine.According to a press release from the NDDOT, law enforcement agencies will be in the most populated areas with special patrols looking for violators. They'll deploy various tactics which include using multiple vehicles to look for violators or looking for any driver exhibiting behaviors or postures consistent with using a mobile device to compose, read or send data.
The program “U Drive. U Text. U Pay" deploys agencies in Bismarck, Devils Lake, Dickinson, Fargo, grand Forks, Jamestown, Minot, Valley City and Watford City. The Burleigh County Sheriff's office will also have extra enforcement to catch violators.
