You've just brought in the trophy of a lifetime and you’ve picked out the spot on your wall where it will hang. Before you make too many plans regarding your trophy, you should be sure to take appropriate steps to ensure it’s in good shape when it reaches the taxidermist. All too often, improper handling and care of the animal after the kill results in loss of the hide or hair slippage. What about after you take your trophy home? Join the experts from Dakota Taxidermy as they give important recommendations related to caring for your trophy.

From 10-2, youth will engage in this fun, hands-on activity to create an animal track replica to take home with them as they learn how to identify native ND animal tracks.

With the abundance of agriculture in the Dakotas, waterfowl hunters are blessed with ample file hunting opportunities for both ducks and geese. Learn some of the finer points of field hunting over decoys for snow geese, Canada geese, and mallards.

Join co-hosts John Arman, Kurt Schirado & Jason Wright from Ultimate Outdoor Adventures TV as they discuss various bowhunting tips & tactics that will make your early season hunting adventures more successful. From choosing the best clothing to learning how deer movement throughout the season can dictate how and where you should be hunting. They will have a variety of archery gear on display ranging from personal hunting bows to the blinds they hunt out of each year.  Questions are welcome!  This seminar is great for all hunters, young and old, no matter the level of bowhunting experience.

Long-time trapper and predator hunter Burnell Paul will discuss strategies and tactics for calling coyote and fox. Burnell will explain the types of calls to use to lure predators within hunting range, his preferences for rifle and caliber type, and other equipment that he utilizes.

The renewed interest in trapping highlights the importance of a trapper education program. Phil Mastrangelo will discuss the Cooperative Fur Harvester Education Program and its emphasis on the responsible, legal, and ethical behavior of those who harvest furbearers.

The season opener looks to be hot! Mike and Shawnee Bassett from 100x Retrievers will show you how to condition and care for your dog to ensure a safe and successful hunting season.

After-market modifications and customizing equipment to make ice anglers more mobile and efficient has been one of the hottest topics on the ice fishing scene. Learn how to modify your equipment to help you catch more fish this winter.

North Dakota law requires youth ages 12-16 who do not have a valid driver's license or learner’s permit to take a safety certification class. The certification is needed in order to legally operate OHVs on any public lands including trails and ditches. Cost is $20 per student and you can call 701-328-5348 or visit ND Park & Rec's website to register for the course. NOTE:  If your youth is 11 1/2 at time of course he/she may still take the course and the license will be sent out once the student turns 12 years of age.
