Sioux County Officials Investigating Butchered and Stolen Livestock

Cattlemen and ranchers are being extra diligent in keeping their livestock safe and sound after reports of stolen and butchered cattle.

The North Dakota Stockmen's Association (NDSA) is advising livestock producers to keep an extra eye on their heard and report any suspicious activity to local authorities. As of late, authorities are investigating two cases around the Cannonball area. One case involves a dead saddle horse, four dead cows and more than 30 missing head of cattle and some animals appeared to have been butchered. One report involve three dead bison.

Ranchers and farmers are strongly advised to keep an eye and a  head count on cattle and livestock.
There is a standing reward of up to $14,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any person stealing, butchering or shooting cattle, horses or mules in the state.
