States Economy Ranked From 1-51, Where is North Dakota?

Business Insider recently looked at every state in the country to rank the strongest and weakest economy (including Wash.DC) and ranked them from 51 to 1. With the oil industry slowing and gas prices at the lowest in a long time, where do you think NoDak ranks?

BI looked at several indicators in each state to come up with the list.

• June 2015 unemployment rate
• Percent change in nonfarm payroll jobs, June 2014-June 2015
• Change in housing prices, Q1 2014-Q1 2015

The top states are-

1. North Dakota
2. Colorado
3. Washington DC
4. Texas
5. Washington

The bottom states are #50 West Virginia, 49 Alabama, 48 New Mexico, 47 Missouri and Maine 46.
