The Mandan Zombie Run will be a 5K at Prairie West Golf Course. The event is being tagged as "chase or be chased."

Runners in the event will be either humans or zombies. The humans will be wearing flag-football flags as they attempt to make it to the safe zone (where there may be an antidote) with at least one flag. Each flag represents a 'life.' If a human loses all their flags (lives), they're infected.

Zombie runners are released about one minute after humans begin the race and will attempt to collect all the flags they can from humans to infect as many as possible before they get to the safe zone.

All Mandan Zombie Run participants receive an event t-shirt, race bib and a medal. Check-in for the race will start at 5 p.m. You can register for the event at MandanZombieRun.com. Prior to October 1st, the cost is $45 and $65 after.

Several extra activities at the event include door prizes, costume contest, food, and music.

Proceeds from the event will benefit recreational groups in Mandan.

Due to the frightening nature of zombies, it's recommended that participants are 12 years of age and older. Every participant is required to sign a waiver and anyone 17 or younger require parental or guardian consent.

More info can be found at the Mandan Zombie Run Facebook page.
