I've done a lot of traveling in my life and have lived coast to coast--starting off in Seattle, and have made stops in Savannah, Charleston, Winston-Salem, Spartanburg, Dallas, Colorado Springs, Spokane, Great Falls, Columbus and here in Bismarck--and these the cities that I've lived in, and I've visited 100's more.  This year on my vacation I did go back to Spokane for a visit, and made a day trip to Seattle and also down to Reno, and other quick stops between destinations for food and gas.   I've been to the "Big Apple" New York City and found despite what I heard---people there are VERY friendly and I enjoyed my visit there back 2000.    I happened on a list of a travel site's top-10 most unfriendly cities for travelers.  Check it out and see if you agree with the results of their survey.   I have been to Oakland and Detroit that made the list and had a nice time in both of those cities!!
