I have family planning a trip to North Dakota and they did some research in terms of what to do, where to go and how to spend their time wisely while in NoDak. I had some ideas being that I know all the nooks and crannies of the state. However, they did come across with what I thought was a pretty good website with information they shared with me, and asked for the best places to visit and things to do.  The website is Attractions of America.com. Here are some of the top attractions according to the website. I found these to be some great ideas for a STAYCATION this summer or weekend getaway or if you have friends or family coming to North Dakota for a visit.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park- The park is known for its scenic beauty and was established in 1978. The park is spread over 70,447 acres including the Badlands.

Fort Mandan Overlook State Historic Site- Fort Mandan Overlook was set up as an area where Lewis and Clark developed their headquarters for the winter of 1804-1805.

North Dakota Heritage Center- The Heritage Center is one of the biggest attractions of Bismarck. Learning and fun for the entire family that could eat up an entire day.

International Peace Garden-  Want to head north to the boarder? This attraction opened in 1932 as a symbol of peace and friendship and claims to be the longest unfortified border in the world. Many visitors stop and check out the floral gardens and unique designs plus take photos.

Some of the other attractions include the National Buffalo Museum in Jamestown and The Fargo Theatre in downtown Fargo.

I was impressed with the information on the website. Sometimes, because we live it everyday, we can sometimes overlook or forget how many attractions and things we have to offer and to do in the Peace Garden State.
