The men's golf program at the University of North Dakota is being reinstated.

In April, UND had announced they were cutting men's golf, as well as baseball from athletics due to budget cuts. However, if enough money was raised by August 30, officials said the golf program could be spared.

This past week, Athletic Director Brian Faison said the program had raised the necessary $144,400 it needed for the fiscal years in 2017 and 2018. The approved funding plan also included an endowment to sustain golf for UND beyond 2018. The university, along with its alumni association will establish the amount needed, and the fund will need to be capitalized by June 2018.
