UND Releases List of Possible New Nicknames [VIDEO + POLL]

The University of North Dakota released the results of the submission period for a new nickname for the University late Monday night.
They divided the more than 6,000 submissions into 2 preliminary lists. One includes names that will be considered, the other will not be going forward to the public vote.

The 2 biggest chunks of the over 600 pages of submissions that will not be considered are over 150 pages of submissions asking for "Fighting Sioux" and variations of that name to return, as well as over 30 pages of submissions asking to go forward with no nickname.

The names on the considered list that gained the most submissions include Aero's or Aviators, Blizzards, Calvary, Flickertails, North Stars, Sun Dogs, and Tsunami
