Very cold arctic air returns to Bismarck-Mandan as the National Weather Service has issued a WIND CHILL ADVISORY, below zero temperatures will affect the area tonight as the system moves through.

According to the NWS in Bismarck:

A wind chill advisory in effect for most of Central North Dakota today into Tuesday morning. Arctic air behind a cold front will continue to push into the area today as brisk northerly winds behind the front will reach 15 to 25 mph today...and decrease to 5 to 10 mph later tonight. Temperatures will be dropping during the daytime today...and reach lows tonight of 5 to 20 below zero. The combination of winds and arctic air will bring wind chills as low as 35 below zero at times.

Residents should take the necessary precautions if traveling or working outside.
