The Viking season ends in a listless 24-10 loss at home to the division rival Bears.

They were bottled up all afternoon, no big plays, no turnovers but most importantly no ball movement.

This is not the way the Minnesota Vikings should go out, not these guys. This team was by far the most talented in the last 3 years. Here we are though. Players unloading their lockers and exchanging pleasantries as they quietly filed out of the locker-room. Here are some reasons why they are not moving on (from the fan's perspective).

  • No offensive identity.  You have a guy like Kirk Cousins that plays well off of play action but you don't run the ball nearly enough to establish it. Hopefully, the next offensive coordinator can get it done.
  • The defense felt more like a bend but don't break one this year and was susceptible to the big play. That was pretty true to form in this game with Taylor Gabriel torching Holton Hill for a 40-yard grab that put the Bears on the one-yard line in the second quarter.
  • No chemistry with the receivers. There were times throughout this game and this season where it was evident that these guys weren't on the same page. That should get better with time.

Mike Zimmer the coach looks safe from Black Monday but moving forward, hopefully, he can get the offensive coordinator he wants for this team.

Here's what the players had to say:

WR Stefon Diggs

RB Latavius Murray

TE Kyle Rudolph

QB Kirk Cousins

SS Jayron Kearse

WR Adam Thielen
