The WDA tournament wrapped up Saturday at the Bismarck Civic Center with a number of exciting games to set up a highly-anticipated state tournament. A recap of each game is below.


In a close matchup, Bismarck High School defeated Century 49-46 to move on to state as the number one seed. For BHS, Keisha Englehardt had 14 points while Rylee Meier contributed 9 points in the victory. Macy Lynch had 14 points and Hannah Larson netted 11 points in a losing effort for Century.

Mandan High School qualified for the state tournament by defeating St. Mary's 68-39. Courtney Goetz contributed an impressive 28 points and 12 rebounds and teammate Makenzie Schmidt scored 8 points in Mandan's win. St. Mary's high scorers were Sydney Miller and Rachel Power with 12 and 7 points, respectively.

In other action, Jamestown defeated Minot 52-43 to qualify for state.

On the boys side, St. Mary's defeated Century, 63-50, to move on as the number one seed in the state tournament. High scorers for St. Mary's were Darius Sparks with 16 points and Ross Kopp with 10 points. For Century, Tyler Rudolph netted 26 points and Dalton Feeney drained 8 points in the loss.

Mandan High School qualified for state action by defeating Dickinson 63-47. Erron Collins and Daniel Peterson scored 16 points and 7 points, respectively in the win. For Dickinson, Dylan Skabo had 15 points and Mark Erickson contributed with 9 points in the losing effort.

BHS also moves on to state by defeating Minot 61-56. The high scorers for the Demons were Taylor Schafer with 22 points and Troy Hausauer with 20 points. In the loss for Minot, Caleb Albertson netted an impressive 26 points while teammate Brandon Van Dusen had 14 points.

The state tournament tips off on Thursday, March 14. Matchups are as follows:
