Did you know that WE ARE TRASHY??????

With over a half million volunteers cleaning up the beaches last year, we found out there are some pretty terrible things floating around in our oceans … and we put them there.

Volunteers collected over 10 MILLION POUNDS OF TRASH and here’s how it broke down:

Over 2 million cigarettes

Over 1 million food wrappers/containers

1 million beverage bottles

1 million plastic backs

Almost 700,000 cups and cutlery

Almost 1 million glass bottles and cans

300,000 paper bags

Bottom line: If you’re going to eat, drink, and smoke on the beach(like along the Missouri River--hint hint!!!), DON’T BE A COMPLETE MORON AND LEAVE YOUR TRASH THERE! (Gawker)
