With the presidential election in full swing, this got me thinking, "what are the whitest states in the country"? With every vote being important, and the candidates courting every ethnicity and race, I wanted to know. I decided to do some research on this subject.

According to the US Census Bureau, the whitest states in the country are Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, West Virginia, Iowa, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Kentucky and North Dakota. All of these states are at least 90% white.

The states with the highest concentration of African Americans in the nation would include Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and Hawaii. These states have the smallest concentration of white people.

USA, the melting pot!
