Find a Home.com researched the murder and violent crime rate for every state to come up with the most dangerous place in every state.

According to research published last week, the researchers looked at the 2014 FBI Uniform Crime Report and identified the county in every state with the highest number of violent crime reported. A violent crime is a crime that involves a threat of force or a crime where force was involved. 2014 was the latest data available for this research.

The most violent place in North Dakota is Williams County. The research found-

  • Population of 27,066
  • Murder rate of 7 per 100,000 people
  • Violent crime is 605.9 per 100,000 people
  • Violent crimes reported - 164

The other county which scored high in violent crime in the state was Morton County with a murder rate of 7 per 100,000 people. You can read more on the methodology used to obtain these statistics here.
