Seems like we can not get a little break from this wicked weather even though you'll rejoice in the near 40 degree weather today.( Friday) The region will be above freezing today and it'll be mild but windy. The NWS has issued a WIND ADVISORY for the area.

The wind advisory is in effect for all of western and portions of Central North Dakota this afternoon and evening. The area can expect an increase in wind velocity over the region with gusts to 45 mph later this morning. Bismarck- Mandan and the surrounding counties and cities can expect a strong northwest wind to then develop across the remainder of area later today and during this evening as a strong cold system pushes south across the state. winds will taper off late tonight.

With the system the area will have a chance if light snowfall with very little accumulation but be aware of blowing and drifting snow in open areas especially on the interstates and open highways as hazardous driving conditions due to a lack of visibility as the system moves through.
