Here we go again! I don't think this winter will ever let go, as the National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a WINTER STORM WATCH for parts of the region.

According to the NWS, the WATCH will go into effect Friday afternoon through Saturday morning for the counties of Renville-Bottineau-Rolette-Ward-McHenry-Pierce-Mercer-Oliver-McLean-Sheridan-Wells-Foster-Burleigh-Kidder-Stutsman-Logan-La Moure and Dickey.

Additional counties could be included in this watch area as the system moves closer to the area.

Heavy snow and blowing snow possible with accumulations of 3-6 inches. As with the previous storm last weekend, this system is a very narrow band, but higher snow amounts are possible.

If you have holiday travel planned, conditions will start to deteriorate for the Friday evening commute. Gusty winds as high as 40 mph could make travel difficult with blowing and drifting snow.

With the snow, temperatures will drop, and wind chills will be as low as 25 below zero.

A Winter Storm Watch means there is potential for significant snow, sleet or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts with Townsquare Media.
