40 Days of Lent and What to Give Up?
Today (Wednesday 2/18) is Ash Wednesday and day one of the Lenten season.
According to Catholic On Line, " Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Season of Lent. It is a season of penance, reflection, and fasting which prepares us for Christ's Resurrection on Easter Sunday, through which we attain redemption.
In simple terms, Catholics normally do away or give up something for the 40 days of Lent.
Open Bible compiled a list of the most mentioned Lenten sacrifices on Twitter from 2014. Some of these will sound very familiar. Here are the top 10:

- fast food
- junk food

For a change during for Lent, some take on added responsibilities such as helping others in shelters or soup kitchens. I have even taken on the additional spiritual responsibility of attending mass or worship services everyday during Lent.
Some people diet for the 40 days or exercise more during this time.
