It's nothing new for police officers, there are so many people that are uncomfortable around them for no apparent reason

I understand if you have a warrant out for your arrest, or you just got pulled over for an obvious traffic citation, like being in a hurry and driving way too fast. In most situations when people have been involved in conversations with a police officer, are when they are just trying to do their job. Have you ever had a chance to just talk with a police officer when they are off-duty? You might find it hard to believe, but they are just people like us, trying to make a living.

Thanks to the Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center this Thursday you'll have a chance to meet someone new ( who is also a cop )

This is a perfect opportunity to chase any fears away about being around a police officer. According to a media press release " On May 5th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m, the Dakota Children’s Advocacy Center will be open to the public for their first-ever Coffee with a Cop event. The DCAC staff members will be joined by the Bismarck Police Department so that visitors can meet a blue uniform and badge in a more casual setting. Coffee is being provided by The Gifted Bean, and treats are being supplied by the Yellow Stitch Boutique. While visitors get to meet a real cop in person, they are also welcome to tours to see and understand what Children’s Advocacy Centers do"
