Back in February of this year, local authorities responded to a call where a 5-year old boy was found unresponsive. He was later pronounced dead; this prompted an investigation into the circumstances of the child's death.

40 -year-old Rolanda Doyle, the child's caregiver, was arrested for the neglect and abuse of Geremy Doyle. According to KX News, Doyle was the boy's aunt and caregiver at the time of his death.

Inforum reported that the child had been beaten and had frostbite. The source also says Doyle forced the boy to sleep in the entryway of her home.

Background

According to Doyle's county court records, before this incident, she had been charged with "Ingesting a controlled Substance" (Misdemeanor) in 2017 and had two traffic tickets from 2019.

Charged With Murder

Doyle was initially charged with "Child Abuse -Permanent Loss or Impairment Victim Under 6," "Child Abuse -Permanent Loss or Impairment," "Child neglect - Parental.

Doyle's bond was set at $100,000 for these initial charges.

Now, Doyle has also been given a murder charge -- "Murder in the Course of and in Furtherance of, or Flight from Certain Crimes - Child Victim."

This charge has a bond set at $500,000.

Doyle is being held at Burleigh County Detention Center.

Connections:

According to KX News, there were two other individuals involved in case, Russell James, and Serenity Foots. They have also been charged with child abuse and neglect.
