Maurice White, the founder and leader of Earth, Wind, & Fire, has passed away. He was 74.

The news was confirmed by White's brother, Verdine, according to Yahoo!, who stated that Maurice passed away in his Los Angeles home.

White founded Earth, Wind, & Fire back in the late 1960's and they became one of the most successful bands of the 20th century, spanning multiple music genres.

White was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease back in the 1980's, according to his Wikipedia page.

White is survived by his wife and two children.
