The FBI has not given up on learning the story behind the fate of Olivia Lone Bear.

NBC North Dakota News reports the bureau is continuing its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the young New Town woman.

The body of Ms. Lone Bear turned up in a vehicle in Lake Sakakawea last month. The recovery of her remains ended anine-month search after she went missing from the New Town area last fall.

An FBI spokesperson says the length of the investigation is due to the fact that Ms. Lone Bear was found in the water, and the bureau says at this stage they are not ruling anything out.

Olivia Lone Bear was laid to rest Aug. 6, and friends and supporters marched across Four Bears Bridge in New Town the following Thursday in her memory.

The bureau has yet to disclose a cause of death in the case.
