The City of Williston is set to shine a spotlight on local growth and innovation as it recognizes Economic Development Week from May 12 to 16, with a full slate of events designed to celebrate progress, encourage collaboration, and engage the community.

Organized by Williston Economic Development (WED), the week is part of a broader, international campaign that highlights the critical work economic development organizations do to support business, boost job creation, and improve quality of life in communities.

“This is a chance to show people what we’re working on year-round,” said Anna Nelson, Executive Director of Economic Development. “Whether it’s helping new businesses get started or supporting the ones already here, our goal is to make Williston a place where companies and people alike can succeed.”

Nelson emphasized the importance of public involvement and local partnerships. “We’re excited to bring together leaders, residents, and businesses to talk about what’s next for Williston. Events like these help drive ideas forward.”

Economic Development Week festivities will begin a few days early with a live broadcast of News and Views, hosted by Joel Heitkamp, from the Center for Development on Thursday, May 8, from 9 to 11 a.m. The event is presented in partnership with WED and the Williston Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), and will include guests from both organizations discussing upcoming community initiatives.
