I remember as a kid in San Diego approaching the Coronado Bridge...
...which began in San Diego and bends into Coronado. From 1969 to 2002 this bridge collected money from residents, to tourists, to people making that commute 5 days a

week. I remember people constantly asking "So when is this bridge going to be paid off?" as the fee rose from 60 cents to eventually $1.20.

The final tolls were collected on...

...June 27, 2002, and it was smooth FREE sailing after that - up until 2014, that was the ONLY toll bridge I had ever seen, so go and figure when I moved to Fargo, North

Dakota years later, on a tiny, and I mean TINY little bridge that separated Fargo, North Dakota from Moorhead, Minnesota - ( Red River Of The North ) there was a friendly

little booth that barely fit one person, who sat there and collected 75 cents.

There were many times when the bridge was just completely closed

I said earlier that the bridge was on the Red River, and due to frequent flooding issues it obviously was shut down in both directions. So just how small/large was/is this bridge?

According to aroundus.com "The two-lane Fargo-Moorhead bridge stretches 855 feet across the Red River with thirteen riveted plate-girder spans supported by steel and

concrete structures"

About 10 years ago the cozy little Toll booth stopped collecting 3 quarters...

About 10 years ago, grandforksherald.com reported "In February, the company gave up the bridge linking 12th Avenue North in Fargo and 15th Avenue North in Moorhead. City

officials took over and had the toll booth removed and placed in storage pending the outcome of Bridge Co.'s appeal" Do you remember driving over this bridge? I do.
