I believe this was my 2nd year invited to this annual tournament

This is always a gift that the Bismarck Larks owner and CEO John Bollinger have provided - since 2020, every year towards the end of the season Larks players, business partners, employees, and some media are given the honor to play in a scramble tournament on one of the coolest golf courses in North Dakota - Hawktree Golf Club.

In my group of 5, there were 3 Bismarck Larks players

This is the true charm of playing in this tournament. Spending 5 hours with some ball players - talking about the game now and then - I try not to bug them too much, after all, they are there to relax and play golf. Still, it's refreshing to see their eyes light up when they are talking about the sport they love - baseball. Let me introduce you to my team - myself along with Chris Fries ( owner of Bismarck Distillery ) - Ethan Thomas, ET Mcnish-Heider, and Haldon Craig...

The real feel of this day was appreciation...

...and that spread from John down to the rest of us who were part of this tournament. I sat back and thought about all those who do such a wonderful job for the Larks - from the interns to the men and women in their office.- to families who have players live with them - to the fans who enjoy sitting in the sun-splashed seats at  Bismarck Municipal Ballpark, Dakota Community Bank & Trust Field watching a ball game on a lazy Sunday - the Bismarck Larks are a first-class top-notch organization - they treat people like family - taking parts in local events almost all year round, raising money for so many important charities.

"Respect - treating others with kindness"

Those 5 words stayed with me the whole day. From every player I met yesterday was a humble handshake with a huge smile. At the end of the day ( as our team dodged marble-sized hail from the skies at our last hole ) every team, player, and volunteers at Hawktree had a very special day - a Bismark Larks Treat.
