Going grocery shopping can be quite the pain. You're trying to get the items you need as quickly and efficiently as possible, but North Dakota grocery stores, at times, can be lawless lands.

People stop in the middle of aisles, they walk at glacial paces, and then you have to go through the self-checkout. It's a whole process that I deeply despise.

While on my last trip to the grocery store, I noticed something odd. I saw something out of the corner of my eye and thought to myself, no...it can't be.

But it was.

In the aisles, I saw something that was very far from being summer-appropriate. Yep, that's right, I saw Halloween decorations.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love Halloween more than most, but it's not even August. We haven't even stuffed the stores with school supplies for back-to-school shopping yet. How are we already here?

Some stores like Walmart are calling it "Summerween," according to Business Insider. And yes, it's exactly how you imagine --Halloween decor with a summer theme, which I don't love. I like my spooky stuff, well, spooky.

It isn't just Walmart. TJ Maxx and HomeGoods are also culprits in this crime. I imagine there are many more.

I've seen watermelon jack-o-lanterns, candy corn birthday cakes, and more!

Like I said, I'm all about Halloween, but we only get three months of summer in North Dakota. Also, following this lead, how early do you think we will see Christmas decorations in stores? Will we skip Thanksgiving?
