Your Guide to North Dakota's 2026 Haunted Houses

October 1st marks the start of spooky season, or at least it does in my book. Because many North Dakotans love a good scare, I thought it might help to put together a list of haunted houses you can visit in North Dakota. Here's your Halloween Haunt List for 2026.

1. Horror on Harmon - Bismarck

This haunted house also operates as a charity. It's located on the UTTC campus in Bismarck and has been operating for 25 years. People in Bismarck flock to the campus every year and leave looking absolutely frightened.

Our radio stations also broadcast live from the haunt on Halloween night; look for us there!

2. Acres of Terror - Leonard

Take a self-guided walk through the woods, a corn field and the old Leonard High School to get your adrenaline pumping this Halloween. This year, they're celebrating their 23rd scaring season.

3. The Crypt at Jacob's Manor - Leonard

Leonard, North Dakota (outside of Fargo) has another haunt you can check out! This is a haunted house known for tons of great visuals.

4. Burlington Haunted House - Burlington

The Burlington Haunted house promises tons of scares, but also supports a local cause. -It's a fundraiser by kids with the Burlington Peace Lutheran Luther League and the DLB Trap Team.

This is a truly terrifying haunt as it's located inside the basement of Burlington Peace Lutheran Church.

5. Cottonwood Forest - Williston

This Williston haunt has scares, a zip line, a pumpkin patch, a corn box, a bale mountain, a tire gym, a sand Box, a jumbo jumper, pedal cars, train rides, kiddie rides, and more. Talk about a haunted hot spot!

6. The Downtown Nightmare - Minot

This haunted house is hosted by The Drop Zone Bar in downtown Minot. - Boo's and Booze! This will be its 5th year of scares.

8. The Haunted Fort - Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park

This will be the 24th year the haunt comes alive to scare the people of Bismarck-Mandan and North Dakota. This year, people can go through the "House of Krampus," "Carnievil of Evil," and "Dr. Slaughter's Gulch." This haunt runs through he entire month of October.

9. Small Town Terror Haunted House - Sawyer

This is a volunteer-run haunted attraction and outdoor maze located near Sawyer City Hall, where people looking for a good fright. You can go through the outdoor haunted maze/field and through several rooms inside the haunted house. It promises to be full of live actors, animatronics, spiders and skeletons.
