Tourism in North Dakota?!

We may be "Legendary" according to the slogan, but much of the country has yet to find that out.  Why? Other than Medora and the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, there are not a lot of big tourist attractions in North Dakota.

Even an article on Medium ranks North Dakota as the 49th best state to visit in America (at least we beat Kansas).

Most of us lifelong North Dakota residents like myself prefer it that way.

We like that we can get anywhere in our cities and towns in 10 minutes.  We despise traffic and love our wide open spaces.  It's not like we don't like tourists, we just prefer them in moderation.  Who's with me on that?  We don't want to turn into another Montana.

Nope, us North Dakotans know what we have is pretty special, and we want to keep it that way.  We live through the worst winters, comparatively speaking to any other state in the country, and we know that keeps the riff-raff out.

We know North Dakota is full of subtle beauty.

We get to enjoy amazing sunsets and sunrises. The smell of freshly cut hay. Four beautiful seasons to enjoy (okay, winter can get to be a little long sometimes). The colors of the seasons. If you are a hunter or fisherman like myself, you know how lucky we are living in North Dakota.

Yep, there are dozens of reasons that make living in North Dakota something special.

Number one might be the people themselves. You will be hard-pressed to find any better.

Getting back to tourism.  We may not get a lot of them in North Dakota but here's a humorous look at how to spot them. Giddy-up!
