A Peak Inside Bismarck’s Newest Gas Station
ON the RUN in south Bismarck is now open.
The station is located on South Washington in a very residential area. The gas station/convenience store almost looks out of place because there are no other retail stores. Construction is currently underway to add a car wash to the store which will be located just south of the building.
A strip mall will also be eventually added just south of the property.
There has been some controversy over this new business.
While I think that most residents in this area are glad to have a convenience store option in this neighborhood, some people are complaining about the added traffic pressure to the area. Fear is that especially when the car wash is added this will really slow down traffic in the area.
Another concern is the new 4-way traffic stop that has been added to the intersection of South Washington and Santa Fe Avenue. This was previously only a 2 way stop with no stop signs on the South Washington portion. This has caused some headaches as people are having to slow down now at the stop sign, even causing some motorists to blow right through the 4-way stop who aren't used to it.
I take this route on the way to and from work every day, so I decided to stop in and take a few photos for you to see yourself.
Here's a shot of the intersection in question. I'm not really sure how you can miss those stop signs with bright flags on them, but apparently, some people have.
Of course, it has a place to shop for adult beverages.
It has not one but two do-it-yourself checkout kiosks.
Very modern looking inside the store.
Fresh bites.
Super bright on the outside.
