Unveiling The 5 Best Beaches In North Dakota
Life is a BEACH
The Memorial weekend has just come and gone and that means the unofficial start to summer and beach season in North Dakota. That's right, it sure feels like, and even though we don't have 10,000 lakes to put our toes in the sand in, like Minnesota, we still have some spectacular options.
According to North Dakota Tourism, we have close to 400 lakes. That's a lot fewer fishing holes and a lot fewer swimming holes. However, I will contest that we have more quality compared to quantity in North Dakota when it comes to our lakes, rivers, and reservoirs, especially when it comes to fishing.
The Missouri River, Lake Sakakawea, Devils Lake, Lake Audubon, Lake Oahe, and Lake Ashtabula are just some of my favorite fishing holes in North Dakota that offer world-class Walleye, Northern Pike, panfish, and bass fishing.
Less Crowded Beaches in North Dakota
And unlike Minnesota lakes, most of our lakes are far less crowded. Yep, 10,000 lakes tend to attract hundreds of thousands of people. Shorelines littered with cabins and crowded beaches, and way too many people for my liking. The website Only In Your State recently published an article that caught my eye.
The 5 Most Gorgeous Beaches in North Dakota.

Warmer weather is right around the corner, and if you find yourself longing to take a dip somewhere on a hot summer day, I have to agree with this article. This particular body of water will offer up some of the clearest and coolest water in the state.
North Dakota's Best Swimming Hole is none other than Lake Metigoshe.

The article also listed 4 other notable beaches in North Dakota that are worth a look. They include Lake Sakakawea, Beaver Lake, Lake Renwick, and Devils Lake.
So, if you are looking to explore the sun and the sand this summer in North Dakota, now you have a "to-do list". Enjoy it, because we all know summer is way too short in the Peace Garden State.
