Four eclipses will impact planet Earth in 2026, but only two of them will be visible in North Dakota, according to Modern Sciencex.

The Blood Moon Eclipse in North Dakota

This eclipse is coming up in less than two weeks on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026, and WILL be visible in North Dakota. You are going to have to get up early to see it, as it will be visible in the early morning hours just before sunrise and set while still in eclipse. The total phase will be visible, with the best viewing times likely in the very early hours of that morning.

The Second Eclipse Visible in North Dakota this Year - The Partial Lunar Eclipse

The Partial Lunar Eclipse is coming up on August 28th, 2026. It will be visible across North Dakota. The entire eclipse will appear as a deep, partial shadow covering up to 96.2% of the moon at the maximum eclipse, weather permitting. It is safe to view with the naked eye.

The Other Two Eclipses in 2026

The Ring of Fire Eclipse actually took place yesterday on February 17th, 2026, but was only visible in Antarctica and the southern Indian Ocean. The Total Solar Eclipse is coming up on August 12th, 2026, but will only be visible in the Arctic, Greenland, and Iceland.
