An Accident/Crash has a Portion of a North Dakota Highway Closed

We have had several reports from our listeners of a road closure and a very serious accident that took place sometime early this morning, north of Killdeer, North Dakota.

Parts of North Dakota Highway 22 Remain Closed

At the time of this article (12:30 pm, February 5th, 2026), a portion of Highway 22 remains closed while law enforcement continues to investigate this apparent horrific crash. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. According to the North Dakota DOT Road Conditions Map, Highway 22 is closed from RP 119 to BIA 14. You can see that map here.

This stretch of road is in the Little Missouri River State Park and is in some very rugged terrain. No detour is available. The location of the crash is approximently half way between Killdeer and Mandaree, North Dakota.

Once again, this sounds like a very serious situation. No other details are available at this point. The location of the accident is near 105th Ave NW and Highway 22. As soon as we receive an update from law enforcement concerning this crash, we will update this article. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved.
