Instead of expanding in North Dakota, Allegiant is dropping Air Service

As it turns out, Allegiant Air just announced that one North Dakota Airport will lose service to Las Vegas. According to an article on Yahoo Finance, Allegiant Air will suspend service from Grand Forks International Airport to Las Vegas.

What's Behind the Decision

According to the officials from the Grand Forks International Airport (GFK), boardings are down in general to Las Vegas, and especially with Canadian travelers, who have frequently used this flight, driving down from Winnipeg and other Canadian cities. In years past, about 40% of Allegiant passengers were Canadian from Grand Forks.

When the Vegas Flight end from Grand Forks

Allegiant Air said this route is scheduled to end on May 4th, 2026. They are also suspending their flight from Chattanooga, Tennessee, to Las Vegas as well. Officials from the Grand Forks Airport are hopeful that service will resume again this fall, but future flights to Vegas are uncertain. Allegiant Air also offers service to Phoenix/Mesa and Orlando Sanford from Grand Forks.
