Parts Of North Dakota Could See Accumulating Snow This W-End
I told you yesterday about a potential winter system that could bring accumulating snow to most of North Dakota.
The timeline for that snow event is expected to be Monday evening, November 18th through Wednesday, May 20th. You can read more about that potential storm here.
One weather model says that 20-plus inches could fall in parts of North Dakota that will no doubt trigger winter storm watches and warnings if it materizes.
But, before all of that takes place, parts of western and northwest North Dakota could see accumulating snow this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, a line of snow is expected to form Saturday afternoon from Dickinson to Minot. You can expect minor accumulations from a 1/2 inch to an inch or two. Williston, Watford City, and Crosby could see some accumulating snow too.
Travel problems are not expected, but slippery roads are possible.
In Bismarck Mandan we are expected to miss out on any accumulating snow and will likely see mostly rain, but it may mix with snow late Saturday evening.
A friendly reminder. If you haven't put together a winter survival kit yet for your vehicle, now would be a good time for that. A flashlight, some non-perishable food items, water, warm weather clothes, and another phone charger.
We are expecting some nice weather for November standards with highs in the 50s today, Sunday, and Monday before the potential winter system hits us next Tuesday.
Enjoy the warmer weather while it lasts, because winter might be getting ready to set in next week.
