Within the past five years there have been two wildly successful football teams; North Dakota State and the University of Oregon. Fans are more than excited after hearing the news that these teams will go head-to-head in 2020.

On September 5, 2020, The North Dakota State Bison will take on the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon.

We all know the Bison are four-time defending FCS national champions. Oregon has an impressive past of their own as they have won four straight bowl games (Rose, Fiesta, Alamo, and Rose) and have been in two national championship games. This will be the first time NDSU plays a Pac-12 opponent.

NDSU's athletic director, Matt Larsen, looks at this game as a 'tremendous opportunity.' He believes it will be great exposure for NDSU and FCS football. Head coach Chris Klieman also expressed his excitement about the 2020 game.

Every FBS game is a challenge but also very rewarding for the young men in our program. To go into Oregon and play one of the premier teams in college football in that atmosphere will be an unforgettable experience.

Currently, NDSU is 8-3 against FBS programs and have won the last five including:

  • Kansas
  • Minnesota
  • Colorado State
  • Kansas City
  • Iowa State

NDSU is scheduled to play Iowa in 2016. Other future non-conference games include a home-and-home with Eastern Washington in 2016 and 2017. A home game with North Dakota will take place in 2019.
