The North Dakota Department of Transportation has issued travel alerts for many areas in the state. The following areas in northeast, north central, and southeast North Dakota are under a travel alert due to blowing snow creating reduced visibility:

  • Grand Forks
  • Drayton
  • Pembina (and surrounding areas)
  • Minot (and surrounding areas)
  • Jamestown
  • Valley City
  • Fargo
  • Wahpeton (and surrounding areas)

The NDDOT and North Dakota Highway Patrol had closed I-94 from Jamestown to Valley City, but it has since been reopened.

The NDDOT defines a travel alert as:

Motorists can still travel but may encounter areas of challenging winter weather driving conditions on roadways. Motorists should allow extra time to reach their destination and be alert to conditions that may make travel difficult, change rapidly, or cause travel delays. A TRAVEL ALERT has the potential to change to a NO TRAVEL ADVISED if conditions deteriorate.

We will update conditions as warranted throughout the day.
