A University of North Dakota player has been picked up by an NFL team.

Former NDSU Cornerback CJ Smith did not get drafted but he signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles.

The defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos used a fifth round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft on guard Connor McGovern, who is originally from North Dakota.

Now that we know Carson Wentz is a Philadelphia Eagle, it is time to take a look at some other former NDSU players because Wentz is not necessarily the only player who recently left the Bison to have a future in the NFL.

Twitter has never been more alive in the state of North Dakota than it was Thursday night (4/28) when NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced that the Philadelphia Eagles had selected Carson Wentz with the second overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.

The MDU Resources Community Bowl was the place to be Thursday night, April 28th, as hundreds gathered together to celebrate Carson Wentz being drafted into the NFL.

Thursday, April 28th, will be a big day for former North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz, which is all the more reason for Bismarck to officially name the day for him.
