I know we're getting concerned about our kids eating too much and not getting enough time playing outside and getting in some exercise---Looks like I may have stumbled across some good news her.  Researchers have found that kids in the U.S. are eating fewer calories.   I know as a kid I loved eating carrot sticks, pieces of celery(with peanut butter on 'em) and radishes and other veggies.

Over the past 10 years, calorie consumption by boys declined by about seven percent to 2,100 calories a day. For girls, it dropped by four percent to 1,755 calories a day.

This is good news, of course, as obesity continues to be a national health problem.

But, health experts say the numbers need to decline much more before we’ll see real progress.
