The Things We Waste Our Money On…
Alrighty now---according to WalletPop.com, here are some of the biggest ways we waste money:
•Bottled Water -- Instead of using buying bottled water (and throwing away the bottles) use a safe refillable container and fill your own bottles right from your tap. If you want filtered water, you can get a reasonably priced home-filter pitcher or sink attachment.
•Energy Drinks -- Here's some common sense advice ... Instead of buying three-dollar cans of caffeine, just get a little extra sleep.
•Coffee -- Is there any coffee on the planet that's worth 5 dollars a cup? If you must get your coffee on the go, stick to a gas station or convenience store.
•Using "Super" In Your Tank -- Premium gasoline does not make your car perform better. It simply makes your wallet lighter.
•Oil Changes Every 3,000 Miles -- New cars can go 7,000 to 8,000 miles between oil changes. Just take a look at your owner's manual.
•Cigarettes -- A pack a day hits you in the pocketbook to the tune of over $2,000 a year. And, that doesn't figure in any added medical expenses.
•Children's Birthday Parties -- They've gotten out of hand. What used to be a homemade cake and a game of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey has become a hundreds-of-dollars extravaganza. Stop the madness and save the money and celebrate the old-fashioned way. Everyone will have just as much fun---wait and see!!
