This is a staggering statistic...

...Suicide is the 12th leading cause of death in the United States, and the suicide rate continues to rise. There is some positive information to share on that last stat - Promising news is that a 2022 Harris Poll revealed that 75% of adults in the U.S. believe it is more important than ever to make suicide prevention a national priority. More people are aware that by spreading some valuable information out to the public, we can all work together to understand ways to help. Emily Schmid is an ideal spokesperson for such a special event - She is the walk chair for the Bismarck Mandan Out Of The Darkness Suicide Prevention community walk.

2 years in New Salem and she is currently at Century High School teaching algebra...

...Emily is passionate about her students and the need for more information/resources on mental health to provide for them - she remembers when she was younger, and the awful mystery of just why, why lost souls take their own life. This month of May is  mental health awareness month - and this event Saturday ( May 20th )
