The United Tribes Technical College International Powwow kicked off with Youth Day which was filled with students from all over Bismarck-Mandan.

There is no better way for students to learn than to see and experience things first hand. The Lone Star Arena was packed with students from all grades as Youth Day took place at the International Powwow.

The students and their teachers got a special look at Native American culture. They learned about the history of Burnt Boat drive, United Tribes Technical College and more. Traditional dances were showcased and students even had a chance to get up and learn from the dancers.

The 48th Annual United Tribes Technical College International Powwow will go through September 10th. One day admission is $10, a 3-day weekend pass is $20. Children 5 and under and those 65 and older are free.

Check out the full International Powwow schedule at the United Tribes Technical College website. Thank you for having us at such a fun and educational event!
