BREAKING: NDSU & Tennessee State Football To Hit The Field
The discussion between two elite programs has finally been put on the calendar. North Dakota State University and Tennessee State after discussions going on since August 2022 have come to an agreement. The finalized agreement is to play TWO non-conference football games, on in 2024 and the other in 2025, otherwise known as a "Home-and-Home" style agreement.
BISON vs TIGERS
1. The Gate City Bank Field at the Fargodome, home of the Bison, will host the September 7th, 2024 game.
2. The Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee, home to the Tigers, will host the September 6th, 2025 game.
Both teams are members of the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision. However they are each part of different conferences. Tennessee State is a member of the Ohio Valley Conference, while North Dakota State University, is a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Neither university has ever played the other.
This will be an overwhelmingly exciting match-up. Nissan Stadium is not only home to the Tennessee State Football program but also the NFL's Tennessee Titans dating back to 1999. The facility with a seating capacity of approximately 69,000 fans, then pair it with the location being in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee will draw Bison fans from near and far for this one-of-a-kind experience.
The North Dakota State Bison after the loss to the South Dakota State University Jackrabbits in Frisco, Texas at the NCAA Division I FCS Championship, have fans looking for exciting times ahead as they continue to prove they are still at the top of their game.
NDSU will also have the opportunity to play in another NFL stadium in the fall of the 2023 season, when the Bison host Eastern Washington in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings.
