Carson Wentz, despite not making the playoffs, had a very successful rookie season. He's a finalist for the Pepsi Rookie of the Year Award.

The NFL on Friday announced the five finalists for Pepsi Rookie of the Year. The other nominees are Cowboys runningback Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Falcons linebacker Deion Jones and Chargers defensive end Joey Bosa.

There's definitely some great competition up for the award. Wentz's 2016 credentials include 3,782 passing yards (the most among rookies), 16 passing touchdowns (second most among rookies), and 379 completions, an NFL record for completions by a rookie.

Prescott led rookie quarterbacks with 23 passing touchdowns. Prescott also had 13 wins on the season, tying an NFL record for most wins by a rookie quarterback.

Wentz took home Rookie of the Week honors in weeks one, three, and five.
