According to an article on KFYR-TV the Great Plains Food Bank is distributing food boxes to those in need in the area, including Bismarck Mandan.  This is all a part of a Federal Government program, "Families First Coronavirus Response Act".  According to the article, "Great Plains Food Bank leaders say they're helping with food distribution for the USDA's Farmers to Families Food Box Program."  This program is a win win for both Farmers who are struggling with a surplus of products and people struggling with hunger due to COVID-19.

There will be pick-up locations in Bismarck, Mandan, Minot & Dickinson in western North Dakota and several locations in eastern North Dakota.  The boxes will be given out on certain days and times in each city.

Locally, here in Bismarck Mandan you can get your food box at the following locations and times.  In Bismarck food boxes will be available on June 16th & June 30th at Kirkwood Mall parking lot just off of 3rd street.  The times food boxes will be available between 3:30pm & 6:30pm.  Kirkwood Mall is located at 706 Kirkwood Mall in Bismarck, North Dakota.  In Mandan, you can pick up your food box on June 16th & June 30th at
Mandan Middle School parking lot.  Mandan Middle School is located at 2901 12th avenue Northwest in Mandan, North Dakota.  The times the food boxes will be available is between 11am-2pm.

According to the article, the Great Plains Food Bank says they've seen a 44% in need from it's network of partner food pantries since the coronavirus began to spread across the country.  What's great about this program is that it's FREE and there are no income guidelines required for receiving food for you and your family.
