Have you ever dated somebody you worked with?

How about getting romantically involved with your boss?  Yep, going out for after-hour drinks with your co-workers can add fuel to the fire according to a new study by Moneypenny.

I think I would have to go back to my high schools days since I dated a co-worker.  That doesn't mean I haven't had my opportunities in my adult years.  However, I've seen enough movies over the years, that have ruined people's lives and careers when it comes to romance at the office.  I figured it was best not to mix business with pleasure.

Back to the study by Moneypenny.  They based this on a survey of 2000 Americans and here are some of their findings.

The research highlighted that those aged between 25-34 are the most promiscuous, with this age group being the most likely to have a crush on a co-worker 8%, a crush on their boss 11%, and to message a co-worker outside of work in a romantic way 18%. However, although they are the youngest, 18-24-year-olds are the most likely to have had a romantic affair at a work social event at 16%.

What is the perception of workplace relationships in America?

Are they acceptable or not?  No surprise, men are more likely to be in favor of workplace flings with 66% of men saying they have no problem with them compared to 60% of women.  Overall 63% of Americans said they didn't see a problem with romance at the office, while 37% of Americans believe that they are inappropriate.

So, how about North Dakota?

How likely are we to get our freak on in the workplace?  We rank right about in the middle.  We're the 24th most likely state to have a relationship with a colleague.   Believe it or not, that's the highest-ranking compared to our neighboring states.  Minnesota comes in at number 27, South Dakota is number 45 and Montana is number 49.
