According to a new survey, teenagers send an average of 3,339 texts per

month -- or six for every hour they are awake.

This is an 8 percent jump from last year.

Teenage girls text the most, sending an average of 4,050 texts per month.

Teenage boys send "only" 2,539 monthly texts.
