If North Dakota Colleges Were Hogwarts Houses
Adding to a surge of information that will never be useful to you, the website Online College Plan sorted various colleges around the country into different Hogwarts Houses.
In order to determine where each school would fall, the website looked at two criteria:
- Freshman Retention Rate
- Graduation Rate
The school's mottos were also taken into consideration because the motto also helped Online College Plan determine which Hogwarts House would best fit the school.
The University of North Dakota fell under 'Gryffindor.' According to Online College Plan, this is what qualifies a school for Gryffindor:
The House of Gryffindor, which was created by one of the four founders of Hogwarts (the other three being Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin), Godric Gryffindor, is home to students that have the qualities that Gryffindor praised above all others: courage, determination, and just strength of heart. Students who get sorted into Gryffindor by the Sorting Hat–which incidentally started out as Gryffindor’s very own hat–are renowned for their commitment to protecting others and in having a moral obligation to do what’s right.
Meanwhile, North Dakota State University was sorted into 'Hufflepuff.'
Helga Hufflepuff, the witch that established the Hufflepuff House, dedicated her time teaching the students that the other three founders of Hogwarts didn’t want to bother with. This caused many people to assume that those students that get sorted into Hufflepuff are not as worthwhile as students that were sorted into the other three Houses, but this is simply not true. Students in Hufflepuff have some essential personal characteristics; they are both extremely hard-working and loyal to a fault. This makes the individuals in Hufflepuff House a group of the very best people that you could hope to meet and who are also arguably some of the most academically successful students that are in attendance at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
