The Williston community is being invited to come together for a great cause later this month by helping restock the shelves of a local school food pantry.

A “Fill the Bus” non-perishable food drive is planned for Friday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Cash Wise parking lot. During the event, community members can stop by and donate shelf-stable food items that will go directly to help support the food pantry serving Williston Basin School District #7 families.

Helping Keep the School Pantry Shelves Stocked for Local Families

Organizers say many people may not realize that the local school district is home to an extensive food pantry that helps students and families throughout the year. The upcoming drive is a chance for the community to make a direct impact by helping keep those shelves stocked with much-needed items.

The event is a team effort between Williston Basin School District #7, Basin United Way, and Cash Wise Foods. Cash Wise has agreed to host the event and allow a school bus to be parked at the store, where donations will be collected throughout the day. The goal is simple: fill the bus with food that can be distributed to local families in need.

Organizers are especially asking for shelf-stable food items, including pasta and pasta sauces, peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, snack crackers, ramen noodles, canned meats, ketchup, mayo, mustard, Miracle Whip, and canned fruits and vegetables. Even a small donation, whether it’s a jar of spaghetti sauce, a can of green beans, or a box of macaroni and cheese, can help make a difference.

Community Invited to Help Fill the Bus and Support Local Families

Community members are encouraged to stop by during the event, drop off a few items in the bus, and help support local students and families. With summer underway and many families still relying on pantry resources, every donation can go a long way.

If you’ve been looking for an easy way to give back locally, this is a simple opportunity to help. Just swing by the Cash Wise parking lot on June 26, bring a few non-perishable food items, and help “Fill the Bus” for Williston Basin School District #7.
