Williston North Dakota School District Offering Free Breakfast and Lunch All Summer Long
Families in Williston have access to additional meal support this summer thanks to two Summer Meals Programs offered by Williston Basin School District #7.
The district is once again providing free nutritious meals to children and teens ages 18 and under during the summer months. The program is designed to help ensure local youth continue to have access to healthy meals while school is not in session.
Free Breakfast and Lunch Available for Children Across Williston This Summer
The Summer Meals Program runs Monday through Friday from June 1 through June 26 and again from July 6 through July 31. There will be no meal service from June 29 through July 3.
Free meals are available at four locations throughout Williston, making it convenient for families across the community. Adults over the age of 18 may also purchase meals for $5 each.
Breakfast is served at McVay Elementary School, located at 420 University Avenue, through Door 4. Breakfast hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and include an entrée, fruit, fruit juice, and 1% white milk.
Lunch service is available at several locations throughout the city. Meals include an entrée, fresh fruits and vegetables, and 1% white milk.
Lunch locations and times include:
- Williston Garden Apartments, 10 42nd Street East, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:35 a.m.
- McVay Elementary School, Door 4, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
- Davidson Park, located on Davidson Drive, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:35 a.m.
- Housing Authority Park, behind Williston Auto on 18th Street West, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
In addition to the community meal sites, breakfast and lunch are also available to all students enrolled in the district's summer school programs, and meals are served at the school each student attends for summer school.

Free Summer Meals Provide Important Support for Local Children and Families
District officials note that meal costs, free and reduced-price meal eligibility guidelines, and special diet accommodations remain the same as they are during the regular school year.
The Summer Meals Program helps bridge the gap for families during the summer months by providing children with access to balanced meals in a welcoming environment. Parents and guardians are encouraged to take advantage of the program and visit the meal site most convenient for their family.
