Montana Kids Can Share Their Hunting Tales For Prizes
Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte has opened the fourth annual Governor’s Youth Hunting Story Contest and is accepting entries from Montana youth and apprentice hunters ages 10 to 17.
“For the past three years, young hunters across Montana have shared incredible stories that celebrate our hunting heritage and love of the outdoors,” Gianforte said. “As this year’s contest opens, I encourage all youth and apprentice hunters to take part and share their story.”
Participants must submit a story of no more than 500 words and a photo from their hunt. Hunters must be Montana residents and licensed hunters or apprentice hunters between 10 and 17. Eligible entries include the harvest of any legal game, furbearer or bird in the state.
The governor will choose 10 winners, including five in the 10-13 age group and five in the 14-17 age group. Winners will be invited to the Capitol in January to receive prizes and meet with the governor.

The deadline to enter is Tuesday, Dec. 2. More information is available at youthhunting.mt.gov.
